Ruth Evelyn Martin

Ruth Evelyn Martin, 85, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born March 19, 1925 in Cincinnati, OH, a daughter of the late George and Lenora (Bell) Cole, Sr. She was married to the late Gerald C. Martin who died in 2006. Mrs. Martin worked in New York City for British Overseas Airlines as a Passenger Services Officer for over 30 years. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed quilting and needle point. She also lived in England for a number of years.
She is survived by one sister, Frances Horton and her husband Jesse, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Cole, Jr. and William Cole, and one sister, Thelma Cole.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jsees Horton, II will be officiating. Burial will be on Oak Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Jameson Health System Hospice.
