Betty Jean Verdi

Betty Jean Verdi, 79, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, died Thursday morning, March 29, 2007 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born March 6, 1928 in Springfield Twp., #2 Mine, Pennsylvania a daughter of William and Ann (Lopko) Warner. Her parents precede her in death. She married Dominic Verdi who died on April 15, 1992. Mrs. Verdi was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God in New Castle. She was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at the Christian Assembly Church in New Castle.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James (Elaine) Brandenstein of Jacksonville, North Carolina, one son, Dominic W. Verdi and his wife Cindy (Joseph) Verdi of New Castle, PA, six grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Conti, and her sister Jackie Wilson.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, March 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 12:30 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ron Mounts of the Church of God will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
