Carmen Caprose

Carmen Caprose, 87, of Huber Heights, OH, formerly of E. Washington Street, New Castle, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at his home in Huber Heights, Ohio. He was born January 5, 1924 in Ellwood City, a son of the late James and Rose (Zona) Caprose. He married Elvira C. (Mingione) Caprose on November 25, 1948, she survives in Huber Heights. Mr. Caprose worked as a machinist and in the foundry of Johnson Bronze retiring after 42 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the Anti-Aircraft 224th Searchlight Battalion Mr. Caprose received a Purple Heart for wounds received in New Guinea and was awarded a Bronze Star. Mr. Caprose was a member of the St. Joseph Church and a Life Member of the American Legion and Full Member of the Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Barbara Lombardo of Dayton, OH, one son, Louis Cipro of Washington, DC, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Karl Caprose, two brothers, Patsy, and Joseph Caprose, and four sisters, Anna Mazzant, Francis Rozzi, Minnie DiMuccio, and Jenny Pagley.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father Steve Palsa of St. Joseph the Worker Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the cemetery.
