Domenick P. Ruozzo, 87, of 315 N. Lafayette St., New Castle, died Thursday morning, April 12, 2007 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born November 26, 1919 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Ralph and Jenny (Mangino) Ruozzo. He married Elvira (DiThomas) Ruozzo and they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 4 of this year, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Ruozzo was a clerk at United Engineering, he then retired from Mesta Machine as Chief Expeditor. He was a member of the Musicians Union, the International Association of Machinist, the Holy Name Society of St. Lucy Church and the Men's Choir of St. Lucy Church. He received the Life Service Award from the Pittsburgh Diocesan Union of Holy Name Societies in 2000. Mr. Ruozzo taught trumpet lessons at Donati Music Store for 40 years and played trumpet with both the Red Coat and Blue Coat Bands for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by, one daughter, Liberta Ruozzo of New Castle, PA, and one son, Thomas Ruozzo of Pittsburgh, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Ruozzo, James 'Mitty' Ruozzo, and Ernie Ruozzo, and one sister Jenny Canale.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15, 2007 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 16, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Lucy Church. Father Kenneth Keene of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery.
