Nettie M. Donofrio

Nettie M. Donofrio, 94, of Dushane Street, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born January 21, 1917 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Alfred and Catherine (Pisano) Gillest. She married John Donofrio, Jr. on September 8, 1945, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Donofrio was a homemaker and a member of St. Vitus Church. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, watching soaps, and playing bingo.
She is survived by two daughters, Patty Trover and her husband Lloyd, and Jeri Hake and her husband Joseph, all of New Castle, three sisters, Vera Brown, Angeline Love, and Loretta Zarilla, all of New Castle, four grand children, three great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence ‘Tracy’ Gillest and Alfred Gillest..
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 18, 2011 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
