Philomena Elisco, 83, of Butler Avenue, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. She was born September 7, 1927 in Palena, Italy a daughter of the late Gaetano and Lucia (Ferrara) Colaiacovo. She was married to Frank Elisco who die October 19, 1974. Mrs. Elisco worked at Shenango China, the Human Service Center, and was a private duty caregiver for many years. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and scrabble, and going to casinos.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Elisco, Sandra Bullano and her husband Joe, and Debbie Yagersky and her husband Jay, all of New Castle, one son, Michael Elisco and his wife Consolata of Columbus, OH, two brothers, Bennie Colaiacovo of Dunkirk, NY, and Harry Colaiacovo of New Castle, and three sisters, Christine Lutz, and Clara Staph, both of New Castle, PA, and Marie Monico of Girard, OH, and five grandsons, Christopher Gilson, Jay and John Yagersky, and Luciano and Francesco Elisco.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen Amodie.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Sean Francis of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
