John James Yova, Jr., 53, of Boardman, formerly of Ellwood City and New Castle, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at his home in Boardman, Ohio. He was born August 13, 1957 in Ellwood City, a son of John ‘Jack’ Yova and the late Angelina (Gisondi) Brown. He married JoAnn M. (Short) Yova on October 8, 1988, she survives in Boardman. Mr. Yova was a driver for FedEx in Gulf Port, Mississippi for 18 years. He then was owner of the Gourmet Place in New Castle for 5 years. Mr. Yova has been a banquet captain at the Lake Club of Ohio for 2 years. He enjoyed hiking and boating, and will be sadly missed by his family and friends and all who loved him dearly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Michael Yova of Portersville, PA, one sister, Terri Hill and her long time companion Rick Moffet of Wampum, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M.
Blessing services will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Steve Palsa of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery in Ellwood City.
