Evelyn Virginia Blue

Evelyn Virginia Blue, 78, of West North Street, died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at her home in New Castle. She was born August 29, 1932 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Gordon and Louise (Wilson) Marks. She married Rev. Ross Blue on April 6, 1957, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Blue was a service support representative for 8 years for the Department of Motor Vehicles in Trenton, NJ. She was also a foster parent with Children’s Home Society in New Jersey for 52 years helping hundreds of children. Mrs. Blue enjoyed cooking, baking, and created a cook book for the Children’s Home Society. She also collected dolls and salt and pepper shakers

She is survived by eight children, Barbara Wiley of New Castle, Vicky Liverman and husband Donald of Columbia, NC, Joelle Jones and husband Bennie of Warren, OH, John Blue of Ft. Worth, TX, Sharon Blue of Trenton, NJ, Dawn Campbell and husband Lee of New Castle, Jeffrey Blue and wife Stephanie of Trenton, NJ, and Nancy Robertson and husband Rodney of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, one brother, James T. Burley of New Castle, one sister, Gertrude ‘Tootsie’ Herns of Youngstown, OH, sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis ‘Snooks’ Brothers.

Visitation will be held at the St. Paul Baptist Church on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul Baptist Church. Rev. Keith Burley will be officiating. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
