Jean Procopio

Jean Procopio, 79, of Moyer Rd, New Castle, died Friday morning, May 4, 2007, of Acute Lymphocetic Leukemia, at her daughter’s home in Youngstown, Ohio. She was born April 2, 1928 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Anthony and Agatha (Colletti) DeJoseph. She was married to James Procopio who died on November 18, 1993. Mrs. Procopio was owner and operator of Jean's Beauty Shop for 30 years. She then retired from Giant Eagle (Butler Ave. Store) as a food preparer.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise Kalapos of Youngstown, OH and Donna Procopio of New Castle, PA, two brothers, Ernest DeJoseph and Arthur DeJoseph both of New Castle, PA, one sister, Antionette Rao of New Castle, PA, and three grandchildren, Bryan Gillette of Pittsburgh, PA, Kristen Kalapos and Michael Kalapos both of Youngstown, OH.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred DeJoseph and John DeJoseph and two sisters, Mary Gennetti and Anna Pezzuti.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
