James D. Black, 52, of Kinston, NC, formerly of New Castle, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his home in Kinston, North Carolina. He was born October 30, 1958 in New Castle, the son of the late Sylvester Black and Margaret (Johnson) Black. His mother survives in Kinston, NC. Mr. Black was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was an Army veteran serving stateside.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Jessica Black of Zelienople, PA, and Jared Black of Kinston, NC, and three sisters, Evelyn Naderinski of New Castle, PA, Donna Short of Lafayette, IN, and Cheryl Dickson of Kinston, NC.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Fair.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
