Genevieve Quarella

Genevieve Quarella, 93, of Edinboro, PA, formerly of Walls Street, New Castle, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Edinboro Manor in Edinboro. She was born June 16, 1917 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Mongiello) Thomas. She was married to the late Carmen S. ‘Doc’ Quarella, who died January 14, 1999. Mrs. Quarella worked in sales at the G.C. Murphey Co. in New Castle. She was a member of the St. Vitus Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, and playing bingo. She will also be remembered for being completely devoted to her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Yvonne of Edinboro, PA, one sister, Margaret Peluso of New Castle, one granddaughter, Rebecca Rennie and her husband Chuck of LeClaire, IA, and one great grandson, Jude Rennie.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Quarella, and three sisters, Anna Thomas, Esther Krause, and Rose LaScola.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Sean Francis of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 A.M. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
