Joseph S. Argiro, Jr., 53, of Arlington Ave., New Castle, died Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2007 at his home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born July 4, 1953 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late Joseph S. Argiro, Sr. and Mary Ann (Domenick) Argiro. His mother survives in New Castle. He was married to Karen A. (Farris) Argiro on January 28, 1980, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Argiro was a professional musician performing and producing with many bands over the years. He performed and produced an album with the Grand Funk Railroad. He performed with the Four Coins, Gigolo, Modern Man and Nation bands and on the Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada circuit. He also performed on several albums for N'Sync and Aaron Carter and he worked with Walt Maddox and produced music for his children’s programs. Prior to his death he produced and performed with the band Let’s Be Frank, and performed with them for Jack Nicholson and Robert DeNiro. Mr. Argiro enjoyed drawing and spending time with his sons.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by, two sons, Torry J. Argiro and Joseph W. Argiro both of New Castle, PA, and one brother, Samuel J. Argiro of New Castle, PA.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Nicholas Cemetery.
