Joseph Daniel Destefano, Sr.

Joseph Daniel DeStefano, Sr., 79, of Highland Avenue, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle. He was born May 22, 1932 in New Castle, a son of the late Sam and Maria (Ambroselli) DeStefano. He was married to Margaret M. (Eutzy) DeStefano who died June 26, 2006. Mr. DeStefano worked in maintenance for the City of New Castle at the city building retiring after 25 years. He also was a barber for many years and an Army veteran of the Korean Era. He enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, camping, and was a former member of the Eagles Club.

He is survived by one son, Joseph D. DeStefano, Jr. of Frederick, MD, two daughters, Donna M. Campbell of New Castle, and Janet L. Lasko and her husband Richard of New Castle, three brothers, Sam DeStefano, Jr., Vincent DeStefano, and Thomas DeStefano, all of New Castle, PA, two sisters, Peggy DeCaprio of Oviedo, FL, and Angeline Varley of Shelton, WA, and two grandchildren, Steven and Michael Campbell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Phillip DeStefano.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Blessing services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Parkside Cemetery.
