Josephine L. Fortuna

Josephine L. Fortuna, 87, of Pulaski Road, died Monday, July 4, 2011 at Kindred Hospital Pittsburgh in Oakdale, Pennsylvania. She was born May 28, 1924 in New Castle, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Mastropietro) Castronovo. She was married to Angelo Fortuna who died on January 19, 1999. Mrs. Fortuna worked as a Handler at Shenango China retiring after 40 years. She was a member of St. Vitus Church, a former member of the Primetimers Club, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Gentile, three sisters, Dorothy Roselli, Helen DeVincentis, and Rose Scardefield, all of New Castle, two grandchildren, Paul Gentile and Maria & James Trozzo, and three great grandchildren, Gavin and Danielle Gentile and Vincent Trozzo.
She was preceded in death by her son Rodney Gentile, three brothers, Frank, Anthony, and John Cast, and three sisters, Connie Offredo, Catherine Bloise, and Mary Manto.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 8, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Sean Francis of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens in New Castle.
