Aldo A. Galmarini, 86, of 7th Street, West Pittsburg, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at his home in West Pittsburg. He was born May 25, 1925 in New Castle, a son of the late Angelo and Rose (Moneta) Galmarini. He married Ethel M. (Minnocci) Galmarini on May 30, 1949, she survives in West Pittsburg. Mr. Galmarini was a supervisor for Penn Power retiring after 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving with the 251 Engineer Combat Battalion in Europe. He was a member of the American Legion, the Italian American Veterans Association, the Taylor Twp. Fire Department, Penn Power Men's Club, and the West Pittsburg Senior Citizens Group. Mr. Galmarini was a member of the Holy Cross Church Holy Name Society and was the Man of the Year in 1968. He enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Rosemary Bannon and her husband Chuck of New Castle, Angela M. Joseph and her husband Allan of West Pittsburg, and Martha A. Lambo and her husband Larry of New Castle, two sons, Mark A. Galmarini and his wife Rebecca of New Castle, and Richard Galmarini and his wife Elizabeth of Williamsville, NY, three brothers, Angelo Galmarini of New Wilmington, Victor Galmarini of New Castle, and Anthony Galmarini of West Pittsburg, eleven grandchildren, Melissa Marsh, Allan Joseph, Charles Bannon, John Lambo, Justin Joseph, Marc Lambo, Austyn Galmarini, Stephen Galmarini, Luke Galmarini, Michael Galmarini, and Rocco Galmarini, and three great grandchildren, Giana Joseph, Alivia Lambo, and Justin Joseph.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Frank Almade of St. Vincent de Paul Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be in the Madonna Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the cemetery.
