Angela 'Angel' J. Conti

Angela J. ‘Angel’ (Matteo) Conti, 77, of Warner Alley, New Castle died Wednesday afternoon, June 20, 2007 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born March 21, 1930 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Mooney) Matteo. She was married to Fred ‘Fritzie’ Conti, who died June 20, 1999. Mrs. Conti was a member of the CG's Club, the Eagles, Sons of Italy and the Jagielly Club. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to Casinos. She also loved drawing and painting and was a wonderful artist.

She is survived by two sons, David ‘Squeaky’ Conti of New Castle, PA and Gary ‘Bimbo’ Conti of New Castle, PA, one daughter, Alice Conti of New Castle, PA, two brothers, James Matteo of Linthicum, MD and William Carpenter of Reisterstown, MD, five sisters, Grace M. Yoccabel and Marian E. Lenhart both of Glen Burnie, MD, Donna Cameron of Urbana, OH, Marie Bondi of New Castle, PA, and Alberta Donofrio of Goldsboro, MD, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Fred ‘Little Man’ Conti, her brother, John H. Matteo and one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 22, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
