Tullio E. Vellone, 87, of W. Madison Ave., New Castle, died Friday afternoon, June 22, 2007 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born January 20, 1920 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a son of the late John and Carrie (Masters) Vellone. He married Charlotte (Palumbo) Vellone on June 16, 1945, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Vellone worked as a car inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad for many years. He then retired as a railroad car repairman for General American Transportation Corp. in Masury, OH. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving stateside and in Trinidad. He was a Technician Fifth Grade with the 20th Quartermaster Co. Mr. Vellone was active in the CCC, was a former member of the St. Marguerite Society and was a social member of the Eagles Club. He was an avid bowler and hunter and played softball with the Wabash Bears. Mr. Vellone was also the caretaker of St. Lucy Cemetery for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, one son, Daniel Vellone and his wife Antoinette of New Castle, PA, one brother, Edward Vellone of New Castle, PA, one sister, Josephine Russo of Staten Island, NY, one grandson, Adam Vellone of Miami, FL and his beloved dog Susie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rudy Vellone, Sr. and Andrew Vellone.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, June 24, 2007 from 5 pm to 9 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 25, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Lucy Church. Father John Rebel of St. James Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the cemetery.
