Lena H. Papa

Lena H. Papa, 92, of Duquesne St., New Castle, died Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2007 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born October 16, 1914 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late James and Mary (Mancini) Morgan. She married Frank R. Papa, Sr. on December 23, 1943, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Papa worked as a liner at the Shenango China and then in the Microfilm Department at Liberty Mutual in New Castle. She then worked as a Nurses Aide at St. Francis Hospital and retired from Jameson Memorial Hospital after 10 years. Mrs. Papa was a member of the St. Vitus Church and the Ladies of the Dukes. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and was a member of an arts and crafts club at the First Presbyterian Church. She also enjoyed traveling to South Florida to visit with her children and granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, one son, Frankie Papa of New Castle, PA, one daughter, Marlane A. Hosbach of New Castle, PA, and one granddaughter, Stephanie Hosbach of New Castle, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Morgan and Domenick Morgan, and one sister, Annetta Steve.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Robert Zajdel of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Burial will be in the Parkside Cemetery.
