George A. Green

George A. Green, 88, of New Smyma Beach, FL, formerly of New Castle, died October 12, 2011 from an extended illness in Florida.
He was born in New Castle on March 22, 1923 a son of the late Fred & Alberta Green. George was a retired mechanic from Green's Auto Service. He was a decorated Army veteran and served in World War II in Europe. As a staff sergeant at Normandy, he led 12 men to war and brought all of them home. After retirement, he and his wife Ruth built their dream house and retired to Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruth, his brother, Kenneth, three sons, Roger, Gary, and George, Jr., five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's name can be made to the Kidney Foundation.
