Ida 'Edith' Julia Skolada, 93, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, died Monday, November 14, 2011 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was born in New Castle on March 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Bartholomew and Marianne (Perrotta) Lombardi. She was married to Valent L. Skolada who died October 23, 1995. Mrs. Skolada was a selector at Shenango China for 15 years. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and St. Margurite's Club. She enjoyed baking, cooking, baking cookies, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann M. Salmon and her husband Brad of New Castle, two grandchildren, Ronald Nelson and his wife Tiffany of New Castle, and Krista Salmon of Willoughby, OH, and one great granddaughter, Lauryn.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Mancino, Florence Majocha, and Olga Franze.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 9:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Frank Erdeljac will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
