Catherine T. Yakopovich

Catherine T. Yakopovich, 61, of Shadyside Street, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born May 28, 1950 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Fred and Tresia (Nerti) Mozzocio. She was married to Michael N. Yakopovich who died in 2001. Mrs. Yakopovich worked at Big J, Airway Luggage, and New Castle Produce in Customer Service for many years. She enjoyed gambling, cooking, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane J. Yakopovich, and Connie M. Birtalan and her husband Jim of New Castle, one brother, Anthony Mozzocio of West Pittsburg, one sister, Ernestine Chieze of West Pittsburgh, one sister-in-law, Janet Mozzocio, one granddaughter, Lily Birtalan, and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Mozzocio.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Sean Francis of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
