Richard F. Zellner, 60, of Pollock Store Rd., Volant, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at his home in Volant. He was born March 21, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the son of the late Frank Zellner and Betty (Wilhelm) Simpkins who survives in Slippery Rock. He is also survived by his companion of 41 years, Frances J. Holmes. Mr. Zellner was owner and operator of Rick's Auto in Volant for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun collecting, and car races. Mr. Zellner was a member of the Duke's Club, Eagles, American Legion, and VFW.

He is survived by three children, John Holmes of Slippery Rock, PA, Tammy McCluskey of Slippery Rock, PA, and Michelena McCool and her husband Michael of Volant, PA, two brothers, Bruce Simpkins of Pittsburgh, PA, and Wayne Simpkins of Florida, five sisters, Darla Harper of Columbus, OH, Dixie Reeder of New Castle, Denise Natzic of Volant, PA, Toni Goldbach of Slippery Rock, PA, and Sandy Householder (sister) of Volant, PA, and seven grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
