Irene S. Decesare

Irene S. DeCesare, 80, of Harlansburg RD, New Castle, died Sunday afternoon, March 27, 2005 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was born March 14, 1925 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the daughter of Nicholas and Jessie (Ross) Dando, they precede her in death. She was married to Michael M. DeCesare on April 30, 1949, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. DeCesare worked at Golden Hill Nursing Home for 35 years in the kitchen, laundry and as a seamstress. She was a member of the St. Vitus Church and enjoyed sewing. She was an avid bingo and slots player and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, she also loved Frank Sinatra.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, 3 daughters, Kathleen A. DeCesare of Pittsburgh, PA, Virginia L. Grossman of Grove City, PA, and Michelle C. Schweikert of New Castle, PA, one son, Michael C. DeCesare of Pittsburgh, PA, 2 brothers, Robert 'Toby' Dando of New Castle, PA, and Nicholas Dando, Jr. of Wampum, PA, two sisters, JoAnn Faraoni of New Castle, PA, and Virginia Valle of Harrisburg, PA and 3 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Patsy Dando, her brother Louis Dando, and her sister Marie Jebbia.

Visitation will be held at William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 1, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum.
