Elvera D. Neve

Elvera D. Neve, 90, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, formerly of E. Long Avenue, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born January 28, 1921 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Santarella (DiGiacomo) Pauline. She was married to Frank J. Neve who died September 27, 1984. Mrs. Neve worked at Johnson Bronze, Neisner's as a cashier, and Golden Hill Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and the Eagles and Sons of Italy. She enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing, and playing bingo. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Nicholas A. Neve and his wife Tammy of New Castle, one daughter, Linda L. Van Dusen and her husband David of Webster, NY, and four grandchildren, Charles Herdman, Nicholas F. Neve, Francesca Neve, and Gianna Neve.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Albert, Daniel, Joseph, James, and Peter Pauline, and four sisters, Nettie Marcotullio, Rose Stefano, Irene Strobich, and Ann Scarnati.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 4 PM to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Sean Francis of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
