Lois R. Talley, 81, of Parkwood Ct., New Castle, died Saturday evening, August 11, 2007 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born August 12, 1925 in Highland Homes, Alabama a daughter of the late John and Lille (Brown) Mock. She was married to Marvin Talley who died in 1974. Mrs. Talley worked in Housekeeping for the Lawrence County Housing Authority for 10 years. She also worked for a number of area doctors doing office and house cleaning. She was a member of the St. John Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her step-mother, Ella Mock of Highland Homes, AL, two sons, Zollie Talley of New Castle, PA and Thomas Talley of Arizona, five daughters, Jennie Mitchell of New Castle, PA, Selinda Talley of New Castle, PA, Darlene Talley of Mt. Holly, NC, Loretta Talley of Phoenix, AZ, and Lorene Talley of Farrell, PA, nine brothers, Mickey, Eddie, Levie, Henry, Jimmy, John, David Mock all of Montgomery, AL, Cecil Mock of Highland Home, AL, and Richard Mock of Orlando, FL, four sisters, Bertha Carter, Lorene Townsend, & Mary Flowers all of Montgomery, AL, and Zeobia Daniels of Luverne, AL, fifty-one grandchildren, seventy-nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Leroy and Willie James Talley, two daughters, Rosella Talley and Lillie Jo Alvarado, three brothers, Jesse, Grady and Buster Mock, two sisters, Doris Ghosten and Mamie L. Mock and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2007 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 17, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, Inc. Minister Rudolph Aldridge of Union Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Orlena Cemetery in Highland Home, AL. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the cemetery by Rev. James Daniels, Sr..
