Delphia M. Isabella, 88, of Wilson Ave., New Castle, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at VNA Hospice House in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was born September 17, 1923 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Tomaso and Maria (Zeppitella) Tommelleo. She was married to the late Humbert H. Isabella who died February 2, 1968. Mrs. Isabella was a clerk and stenographer 2 retiring after 27 years from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and was active in the Ladies Guild, Choir and was a Eucharistic Minister at the church. She was also a member of Sweet Adeline's. She enjoyed line dancing, bowling, cooking, baking, and sports, especially baseball.
She is survived by three children, Salvatore 'Sam' Isabella and his wife Sandy of New Castle, Mary Louise McHattie and her husband Greg of Butler, and Donald J. Isabella and his wife Ginny of Mechanicsburg, PA, one brother, Thomas Tommelleo of New Castle, two grandchildren, Richard and Ahlea Isabella, two step-grandchildren, Kristen Toland and her husband Thomas and Alex Keddie, and one step-great grandson, Austin Toland.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Louis, Rocco, Tony, and Arthur Tommelleo, two sisters, Lucy Rainey, and Helen Toscano, and one granddaughter, Justine Isabella.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Sean Francis of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
