Thomas A. DeLawder, Sr., 75, of Ellwood City, PA, formerly of Petersburg, WV, and Allison Ave., Washington, PA, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born July 6, 1936 in Petersburg, West Virginia a son of the late Raymond and Cora (Zirk) DeLawder. He married Sandra L. (Brinn) DeLawder on March 31, 1969, she survives in Ellwood City, PA. Mr. DeLawder was a self-employed contractor in Washington, PA for 50 years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was an avid Steelers fan, and enjoyed helping others.
He is survived by one daughter, Pamela A. DeLawder of Bridgeville, PA, two sons, Thomas A. DeLawder, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Ellwood City, PA, and Raymond A. DeLawder of Washington, PA, three brothers, Raymond E. DeLawder of Petersburg, WV, Joe W. DeLawder of the US Military, and Jerry DeLawder of Petersburg, WV, five sisters, Nancy Hogbin, Pat Nesselrodt, Janet Berg, and Sue Iman all of Petersburg, WV, and Linda Adamson of Maysville, WV, and four grandchildren, Kyle Monroe, Autumn Monroe, Marissa Lint, and Tessa DeLawder.
He was preceded in death by his sister Margie Mallow.
At the deceased’s request there is no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, New Castle, PA.
