Mary E. Augustine

Mary E. Augustine, 82, of Camden Avenue, Union Twp., died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle. She was born January 8, 1930 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Antoinette (Osso) Cavallo. She was married to the late Joseph J. Augustine who died December 19, 1988. Mrs. Augustine was manager of Anthony's Westgate Bakery for many years. She loved baking cookies, playing bingo, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three children, Joseph G. Augustine and his wife Carmelita of Littleton, CO, Terri Wansitler and her husband William of New Castle, and Mary Ann Neopolitan and her husband Ralph of Temperance, MI, one brother, Louis Cavallo and his wife Ruth of New Castle, four sisters, Rose Hookway and her husband William of New Castle, Louise Watson and her husband Ralph of Mercer, PA, Carol Jones and her husband Dean of New Castle, and Delores Perine and her husband Wayne of Sterling, VA, sister-in-law, Susan Cavallo of New Castle, and four grandsons, RJ Reider, William Cody Wansitler, Michael Wansitler, and Joey Augustine.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Anthony Cavallo, and one sister, Virginia Shaw.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Sean Francis of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum.
