Richard E. Monk

Richard E. Monk, 68, of Forrest St., New Castle, died Tuesday evening, September 4, 2007 at Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born January 6, 1939 in Blossburg, Pennsylvania a son of the late John and Viola (Smith) Monk.
Mr. Monk worked for PennDot on the road crew for a number of years. He also worked at Clark's Dairy Farm for 10 years.
He is survived by his companion, Cledia A. Hanes of New Castle, PA, one daughter, JoAnn Monk of New York State, two sons, Danny Monk of New York State and John Monk of Indiana, PA, one brother, Harold Monk of Middlebury Center, PA, two sisters, Elnora Cole of Sabinsville, PA, and Hazel Pence of Mt. Jackson, PA and a number of grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Monk.
Memorial services will be held Friday, September 7, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Wiseman will be officiating. Funeral Arrangements by the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home.
