John M. Singer

John M. Singer, 79, of Cadet St., New Castle, died Monday morning, May 9, 2005 at his home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born July 31, 1925 in Pulaski Twp., Pennsylvania the son of John and Helen (Huff) Singer, they precede him in death. He married the former Ruth A. Ziegler on June 20, 1947, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Singer owned and operated Singer Home Improvements for 35 years in New Castle. He was a World War II veteran of the Army and he served as a Tech 5 with the 80th General Hospital in the Pacific and received 3 bronze service stars for his service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former member of the Paws & Taws Modern Western Square Dance Group.

In addition to his wife he is survived by, one son, Stephen Singer of New Wilmington, PA, 4 brothers, Richard Singer of New Castle, PA, L. Eugene Singer of New Castle, PA, William Singer of Butler Co., PA, and Samuel Singer of New Castle, PA, 2 sisters, Helen Palmer of New Castle, PA, and Sally Lou Scanlon of Las Vegas, NV and 3 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Singer, and his sister Georgetta Sadler.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10am-12pm.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 12:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Barbara Moore will celebrate. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the funeral home.
