Jeanne Zona

Jeanne Zona, 59, of Countyline RD, New Castle, died Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2005 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born April 4, 1946 in New Castle, Pennsylvania the daughter of Sam and Peg (Cercell) Vanassa, her father precedes her in death, her mother survives in New Castle. She married Gerald Zona in 1967, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Zona is a graduate of the Carnegie School of Medical Technology in Cleveland, OH and was a baker's assistant for 12 years at DeRosa Bakery in New Castle. She was a member of the St. Vitus Church and of the Ladies Guild of the church. Mrs. Zona loved to spend time with her granddaughters.

In addition to her mother and husband she is survived by, 3 sons, Jerry Zona and his wife Denise Zona of New Castle, PA, Chris Zona of New Castle, PA and Kevin Zona of New Castle, PA, one brother, Sam Vanassa of Enumclaw, WA, and two granddaughters, Jerianne Zona and Rachel Zona of New Castle, PA.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father Robert Zajdel of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:00 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
