Rose M. Ferrara

Rose M. Ferrara, 92, of Hazen St., died Monday, April 30, 2012 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born December 1, 1919 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Guido and Annunziata (Valenti) Mattei. She was married to the late Frank J. Ferrara, Sr. who died July 12, 2004. Mrs. Ferrara worked for Boron Cleaning Services for a number of years, she then worked for Airway Luggage as a seamstress for many years. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and made rosaries for overseas Catholic missions for many years. She loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Michael S. Ferrara and his wife Beverly of New Castle, and Frank J. Ferrara, Jr. of Houston, TX, two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony Santoni, Guido Mattei, and Sam Mattei, and three sisters, Laura DeMino, Yolando Esposto-Novi, and Mary Santoni.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery in New Castle.
