Rose Damato Valenti

Rose Damato Valenti, 76, of 227 W. Sheridan Ave., New Castle, died Saturday morning, September 22, 2007 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born January 25, 1931 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Costanzo) Damato. She married Domenick ‘Doc’ Valenti on April 13, 1968, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Valenti worked at the Shenango Pottery and at Egidio's Restaurant and the Olde Library Restaurant for many years. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, two daughters, Bernadette ‘Bunny’ Caffro Marry of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Toni Ann Caffro of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, three sons, Jeff G. Caffro of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Terry L. Caffro of Orlando, FL, and Mark Valenti of New Castle, PA, two sisters, Jennie Graziani and Philomena ‘Fannie’ Marks both of New Castle, PA and seven grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank Damato, John Damato, Vince Damato, Charles Damato, and Patsy Damato, and two sisters, Theresa Rossi and Florence Jennette.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father James Downs of Christ the King Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery.
