Grace Mary Baxter

Grace Mary Baxter, 91, of 213 Circle St., Washington, NC, formerly of New Castle, died Saturday morning, October 6, 2007 at her home in Washington, North Carolina. She was born October 24, 1915 in Hillsville, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (D'Elce) Giancristofaro. She was married to Norris Baxter, who died in 1990. Mrs. Baxter worked for the B&O Railroad during World War II as a caller.
She is survived by one son, Denis N. Baxter and his wife Judy of Washington, NC, her former daughter-in-law, Shirley Baxter of Front Royal, VA, six grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 7 pm to 9 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vitus Church. Father John Petrarulo of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 am. Entombment will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to the St. Jude Childrens's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
