Alexis J. Davelli, 70, of Cambridge St., passed away suddenly, Thursday, June 28, 2012, into the loving arms of our Blessed Lord, at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh. She was born January 12, 1942 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Faye (Brosius) Veri. She was a caregiver for the elderly for over 45 years. Her compassion for taking care of people was never ending fro this was her purpose in life. She blessed our lives in so many ways, her presence was the heart of our home. She was always determined to make every holiday, birthday or any event fun with a meaningful touch to bring special and unique memories to all of us. The joy she had with her three grandchildren in teaching them to be independent, taught them all to cook, especially sugar cookies, pane bread and her famous Biscottis. How they loved their “Little Nana”. She enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets and spending time with her devoted friends. She planned many events, craft classes and picnics for Neshannock Woods Apartments complex. She was an active member of Challenges. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart and soul and lived by his words.
She is survived by her former husband Salvatore Davelli of Pittsburgh, PA, one son, Lawrence Davelli and his wife Victoria of Columbus, OH, two daughters, Teresa Shevitz and her husband Steven and Carrie McCracken and her husband Gerry, all of New Castle, PA, one brother, Lawrence Veri of Pasadena, MD, two sisters, Mary Jo Spinella of Del Ray Beach, FL, and Geraldine Gordon and her husband Hal of Hendersonville, NC, and three grandchildren, Joshua Lee Shevitz, Jacob Shevitz, and Amber Spor and her husband Freddie.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
Blessing services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
