Marie V. Russo

Marie V. Russo, 93, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, formerly of Montgomery Avenue and Rear W. Cherry St., died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born October 20, 1918 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Tresa (Matteo) Domenick. She was married to the late Paul R. Russo who died November 13, 1974. Mrs. Russo was a cook at Villanova Restaurant and did house cleaning for many years. She enjoyed baking, reading, traveling and going to the casino. She also loved to cook for her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Paula S. Crivaro of New Castle, and Teresa A. DeVivo and her husband Bernard of New Castle, one brother, Frank Domenick of New Castle, three sisters, Dolores Guiliano, Virginia Gagliano, and Louise McCready all of New Castle, two grandchildren, Brian DeVivo and wife Jill and Stacie DeCristoforo and husband Victor, and five great grandchildren, Nico, Dominique, Isabella, Dante, and Juliette.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and Albert Domenick, and three sisters, Annie Pascarella, Jennie Nocera, and Rose Felix.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Frank Almade of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Vitus Cemetery in New Castle.
