Henry V. Rich, 88, of Eastbrook Road, died Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Jameson Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 15, 1923 in New Castle, a son of the late Nick and Nicolina (DeSalso) Rich. He was married to Yolande (Rubeis) Rich for 62 years, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Rich was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Europe. He worked for Shenango Pottery for a few years, then was foreman of the body shop at Scott Bliss Ford for several years. Mr. Rich then opened Henry's Auto Body shop and ran it from 1960 until he retired in 2006. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed bowling and belonged to several area bowling leagues. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and a baseball coach for over 10 years with several youth leagues.

He is survived by two children, Terri and her husband Tom of Annapolis, MD, and Henri Rich of Lacaster, PA, two sisters, Flora Morgan and Ida Amodie of New Castle, and five grandchildren, Jessica, Julie, Jaime, Christy, and Ashly.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Albert and Louis Rich and one sister, Mary Freed.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.

Blessing services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Frank Almade will officiate. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Funeral Rites at the Cemetery. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
