Tony DeGilio, 93, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, formerly of Charles Street, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born February 14, 1919 in New Castle, a son of the late Floyd and Ida (Paolone) DeGilio. He was married to Marjorie Sartorio who died May 31, 1999. Mr. DeGilio retired from the Johnson Bronze after 42 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Atlantic. Mr. DeGilio was a member of the St. Vitus Church, the Sons of Italy, the American Legion Post 343 and the Eagles Club.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Arthur DeGilio, and six sisters, Carmela Chiafullo, Eleanor DeGilio, Angeline DeLorenzo, Madeline Richardson, Genevieve Gallagher, and Lucretia Vaughn.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Blessing services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Bill Sitle of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum.
