Frank R. Papa, Jr., 67, of Duquesne Street, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He was born January 16, 1945 in New Castle, the son of Frank and Lena (Morgan) Papa. His mother precedes him in death. Mr. Papa worked for Blair Strip Steel, Cray Sprinkler Co., the City of New Castle and Sylvan Heights Golf Course. He then was a self-employed photographer for Telesonic Video for many years. He lived in Florida for 15 years. Mr. Papa had a passion for photography and music, he played the trombone in the Blue Coat Band, the Fox & the Mellow Moods, and the Domars. When he was a senior at New Castle High School he marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Orange Bowl. He also played baseball for the Croton Dukes.
He is survived by one sister, Marlane Hosbach of New Castle, and one niece, Stephanie Hosbach of New Castle.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Blessing services will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Nick Vaskov of St. Vitus Church will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
