Evelyn I. Davis

Evelyn I. Davis, 86, of Duff’s Personal Care Home, died Wednesday morning, October 31, 2007 at Duff's Personal Care Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born July 24, 1921 in Harlansburg, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Waldo and Nancy (Emery) Currie. She was married to Clair A. Davis, Sr., who died on January 21, 1987. Mrs. Davis was a waitress at New Castle Drug for many years. She was a former member of the WCTU in Worth Twp. and the Worth Grange. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Worth Twp.

She is survived by two sons, Norman Davis of Enon Valley, PA and William A. Davis of Portersville, PA, one daughter, Donna Davis of New Castle, PA, one sister, Betty Knobloch of Beaver Falls, PA, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clair A. Davis, Jr., and Donald Davis, and two brothers, Gaylord Currie and Russell Currie.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Thomas L. Meling of Zion Baptist Church and Rev. Marsha Parrish of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Baptist Cemetery in Slippery Rock, PA.
