Virginia Valentino

Virginia Valentino, 91, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, formerly of W. Meyer Ave., New Castle, died Saturday morning, November 10, 2007 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born September 11, 1916 in New Castle, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Salvatore and Theresa (Orrico) Fava. She was married to Anthony A. Valentino who died on February 14, 1995. Mrs. Valentino was a homemaker and a member of the former Christian Assembly Church. She taught Adult Sunday School Class at the church for 40 years. Mrs. Valentino was the National Director of the Women’s’ Fellowship Association for the Northwest District for 12 years. She enjoyed reading, baking and sewing.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James (Beverly) DeSantis of New Castle, PA, one brother, Joseph Fava of New Castle, PA, one sister, Mary Russo of New Castle, PA and one grandson, James D. DeSantis of Eufala, AL.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Darrell R. Valentino, one brother, Eugene Fava, and two sisters, Vera Krouse and Rose Massaro.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday, November 12, 2007 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at theWilliam F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dale Russo will be officiating. Burial will be in the Castle View Memorial Gardens.
