Joseph A. Veronesi, 80, of 3981 W. Washington, New Castle, died Friday afternoon, July 8, 2005 at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born June 16, 1925 in Seminole, Pennsylvania the son of Cesare and Erming (Sega) Veronesi, they precede him in death. He was married for 57 years to the former Ida Vignola Veronesi, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Veronesi was a machinist at the Bessemer Cement Co. retiring after 30 years and was an Army veteran of World War II serving in Panama. He was a member of the Bessemer Rod & Gun Club, the Bessemer Croation Club and SNPJ. He enjoyed wood carving and playing bocce and was an avid golfer.

In addition to his wife he is survived by, his son & daughter-in-law, Joseph C. Veronesi & Patty Veronesi of New Castle, PA, his daughter & son-in-law Lorraine A. Lombardo & James Lombardo of New Castle, PA, one brother, Aldo Veronesi of Wayne, PA, 3 sisters, Nell Colaluc, Emma Fedrizzi, and Marie Naples all of New Castle, PA, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother James Gaione, his sister Catherine Williams, and his sister Elda Ryan.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 pm.

A Blessing Service will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Father Victor J. Molka, Jr. of Mary Mother of Hope Parish will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum.
