Rev. Vincent LaGatta, 90, of Orchard Park Drive, New Castle, formerly of 924 E. 99th St., Brooklyn, NY, went to be with the Lord, Saturday evening, November 17, 2007 at his home in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was born October 7, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York a son of the late Luigi and Maria (Parillo) LaGatta. He was married to Angela (Genna) LaGatta, who went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2005. Rev. LaGatta was an Ordained Minister of the Christian Church of North America. He was the Pastor of the Christian Church of Canarsie in Brooklyn, NY for over 40 years. He also worked as a Cement Contractor in New York and was the oldest living member of his Cement Union. Rev. LaGatta was an Army veteran of World War II serving stateside as a Medic.
He is survived by two sons, Rev. Louis A. LaGatta, Sr. and his wife Diane of New Castle, PA, Rev. Vincent Ronald LaGatta, Sr. and his wife Luan of Oroville, CA, one son-in-law, Rev. Nathaniel Saginario of Langhorne, PA, seven grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Marie Saginario of Yardley, PA, three brothers, Joseph LaGatta and Ronald LaGatta of Brooklyn, NY and Dominick LaGatta of Patchogue, Long Island, and one sister, Jean Insinga of Patchogue, Long Island.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
A Visitation and Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Guarino Funeral Home, 9222 Flatlands Ave., Brooklyn, NY. Burial will be in the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY. Memorial donations can be sent to: Raven Ministries, PO Box 5970, Oroville, CA 95966.
