Jean A. Rainey, 86, of W. Wabash Avenue, died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle. She was born August 8, 1926 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Domenick and Catherine (Adamo) Tommelleo. She was married to Michael A. Rainey for 64 years, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Rainey was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish and taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She was very active in the church and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society, Christian Mothers and was a devotee of the Lady of the Stars. Mrs. Rainey also raised a foster child for 20 years and enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by one daughter, Lucia Doneluck and her husband Ray of New Castle, one son, John Rainey and his wife Mary Margaret of New Castle, one sister, Delida Viccari of Ellwood City, and five grandchildren, Brett and Jason Doneluck, and Domenique, Jennie and Albert Rainey.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Tommelleo.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 9 AM to 11 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Father Frank Almade of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery in New Castle.
