E. Leona Moore, 91, of 521 Meriline Ave., New Castle, died Thursday afternoon, December 6, 2007 at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell, Pennsylvania. She was born March 27, 1916 in Kokomo, Indiana a daughter of the late James and Pursa (Henry) Malosh. She was married to Thomas B. Moore, Jr., who died on January 9, 1993.
Mrs. Moore worked in the restaurant and the Gold Room at Shenango China for many years. She also worked at June's Diner in New Castle as a cook. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking, baking and camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Sara Jean Snyder of New Castle, PA, two sons, Robert Eugene Houston of New Castle, PA and William James Houston of Louisiana, seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, three brothers, Harry J. Malosh, Ralph Malosh, and Robert J. Malosh, and one sister, Florence Leonard.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday, December 10, 2007 from 10am to 12pm.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 10, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jeff Harter, Spiritual Care and Bereavement Counselor of Family Hospice and Palliative Care in Hermitage will be officiating. Burial will be in the Savannah Cemetery.
