Esther V. Tonsetic, 89, of Silver Oaks Nursing Home, died Saturday afternoon, August 6, 2005 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born April 22, 1916 in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania the daughter of Sam Butera and Antoinette (Tuminella) Butera LaTona, they precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Joseph J. LaTona. She was married to George Tonsetic who died in 1979. Mrs. Tonsetic worked at the Cash & Carry Market, National Tube, Castle Brand and on the Assembly Line at Airway Luggage in West Pittsburg for many years retiring in 1973. She was a member of the St. Vitus Church and the Diaz Club of West Pittsburg, Christian Mothers of St. Vitus Church, Local 615 Teamsters, the Croation Club and the Ladies Auxillary of Holy Cross Church.

She is survived by one son, Michael Tonsetic of Sterling, VA, one brother, Albert LaTona of West Pittsburg, PA, one sister, Rose Cionni of West Pittsburg, PA and 3 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James Butera, Joseph Butera, and Samuel LaTona.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-9 pm and Wednesday morning from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Church. Father Frank Erdeljac of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
