Catherine L. Doster

Catherine L. Doster, 78, of 324 N. Beaver St., New Castle, died Tuesday evening, January 1, 2008 at Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born December 23, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama a daughter of the late John and Mary (Williams) Smith. She married Elijah Doster, Jr. on June 4, 1970. He survives in New Castle. Mrs. Doster worked in the Cafeteria for the New Castle School District retiring after 16 years. She was a former member of the St. Luke AME Zion Church and a member of the Valley Temple #167. Mrs. Doster loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, two sons, Robert Smith of Pittsburgh, PA, and Addison Gardner of New Castle, PA, one brother, Ollie Dudley of Birmingham, AL, twenty grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, one son, Tyrone Smith, one daughter, Marion Chisem, two brothers, Frank Dudley and John C. Smith, Jr., one sister, Viola Williams, one grandson and one great great grandson.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke AME Zion Church. Rev. Robert S. Hickey, Sr. of St. Luke AME Zion Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
