Emma DeFelice Sandora, 83, a long-time Mahoningtown resident, died Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2005 at the residence of her daughter, Fernada Shaw of 117 E. Hazelcroft Ave. in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born November 9, 1921 in Montanaro, Italy, the daughter of Francesco and Carmella (Schioppa) DeFelice, they precede her in death. She married Patsy Sandora on September 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1975. Mrs. Sandora was a member of St. Lucy Church of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and its Holy Rosary Society; she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Christopher Columbus Society. She worked as a liner at the Shenango China and at Reliable Luggage in New Castle for many years. Her best job in life however was being a wife, mother and grandmother to her family.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Fernada & Jim Shaw of New Castle, PA, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph & Patty Sandora of Prince Frederick, MD, and George & Kathy Sandora of Cranberry Twp., PA, a brother & sister-in-law, Tony & Carmel DeFelice of Poland, OH, a sister, Coletta Crandall of Jackson, MI and five grandchildren, Erin Tiboni, James Shaw, Jr., Joseph Patrick Sandora, Patrick Sandora & Andrew Sandora.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 brothers Anthony DeFelice, William DeFelice, and Joseph DeFelice, and 3 sisters, Mary Citro, Antoinetta Conti, and Isabelle Mastrantuoni.

Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home on Monday from 5pm to 9pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Lucy Church. Father Kenneth Keene of St. Vincent de Paul Parish will be officiating. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the St. Lucy Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be sent to: Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County, 1000 S.
