Margaret L. Black, 83, of Burncoat Road, Kinston, North Carolina, formerly of Sharon and New Castle, PA, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kingston, North Carolina. She was born November 26, 1928 in Sharon, a daughter of the late John and Edna (Allen) Johnson. She was married to the late Sylvester Black who died June 21, 1978. Mrs. Black was a personal caregiver for over 30 years in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She was a member of the Southwest Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and an ordained minister. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Short and her husband Gary of Lafayette, IN, and Cheryl Dickson of Kinston, NC, one step-daughter, Evelyn Naderinski of New Castle, four brothers, Walter, Thomas, Frank, and James Johnson all of Sharon, four sisters, Sarah Locke, Ruth Bewley, Donna Crosby, and Joyce Craig all of Sharon, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, William Fair and James Black, and a number of brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at theWilliam F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bupp will be officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery.
