Rose Helen Steiger

Rose Helen Steiger, 85, of Phoenix, AZ formerly of New Castle, PA passed away at the Hospice Gardiner House, in Phoenix, AZ on Tuesday October 11, 2012. Rose was born in New Castle on January 12, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Josephine Polcaro Audia. She moved to Arizona in 1960. Rose was employed as a nurse's aide at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ for 25 years. After retirement she continued to care for her private duty patients. Rose had a great sense of humor that made people laugh and forget their problems for that moment. She is survived by one son, John Steiger and wife Patty, and one daughter, Diana Karhumaa and husband David of Arizona, a sister Ester Audia of New Castle and a brother Butch Audia and wife Tillie of California and three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brother, Sam, Frank, and Mike Audia and two sisters, Louise Malley and Anita Cresce. Services and burial were held in Phoenix .
